Weekly progress report

We got a small fall vegetable plot planted. We even made a scarecrow to guard over it. We deliberately started small since it is our first attempt at vegetable gardening and we didn’t want to be overwhelmed and/or learn lessons the expensive way.

Sunshine cut the grass all by himself. Thank heaven, too, because I am afraid of what kind of wounds I’d come in with if I got on the lawnmower again. He also did the weedeatering around the magic bus, which gets him major bonus points in my book.

Shelly, our first cat we adopted out here, had more kittens this week. Cat food just got real fucking expensive. At least we’re not seeing any signs of mice anymore, so at least there’s that.

Money is getting tight, but I’m not going to freak out over it. It isn’t exorbitantly expensive to live out here. We also have a freezer full of meat thanks to Sunshine and the feral pig explosion in Texas.

It’s been a good week.
