I won’t bore you with a recap of cleaning up the neighbors half-completed tasks.
Instead, I’ll just give you the before and some after pics of what Sunshine has been working on.
The pink house.
This is the south side where the laundry room is, and the east side (which is the back of the house as it relates to the road).
This is the front of the house, and the sunroom on the south side.
This is what the pink house is looking like these days.
The stone work on the back of the house is finished. (Please ignore the higgledy-piggledy raggeldy lattice and the seriously decrepit boards that support it. That shit is on the to-do list. It’s all going. So is the pile of tile sitting on the left side of the deck–it’s going in the bathroom, which is its own unique kind of ugly.)
This is what the laundry room end of the house is looking like right now. It is still a work in progress–there will someday be a carport built over the concrete parking slab.
And here is the progress on the front of the house. It is also a work in progress.
We still have to get the stone facade on the rest of the front, we have to build steps to the front deck, and we have to get the stone facade on the foundation of the sunroom. There’s also a lot of cleanup left to do, but why bother until Sunshine gets back home and gets done with the stone work, right?
Slowly but surely, it’s starting to look like somebody cares about this place again.
